This webpage was created to showcase examples of biomimicry in medicine.

It is hoped that this will be a useful resource for anyone interested in biomimicry, nature and design.

What is Biomimicry?

‘Biomimicry is innovation inspired by nature’ Janine Benyus.

It is the application of existing features in nature to human technologies and engineering. Examples include the invention of aircraft inspired by bird flight or the use of the golden ratio in architecture based on spirals seen in nature (in shells & flowers).
